, we champion porridge as a means to broaden access to nourishing, sustainable food, and as a gateway to reconnect with nature, celebrate culture, strengthen community, and understand our food systems.
Quick. Nutritious. Simple. Delicious. Porridge is our ancestral convenience food.
From
Ancient Mesopotamians who cooked their porridge with barley and dates, and the wheat-porridge of
Neolithic Scotland, to the spicy, fermented millet in
Ghanian hausa-koko, porridge is stirred into the bowl of history in all its rich textured diversity.


Through our "Pay as You Can" Porridge in the Park events, we bring PORRIDGE TO THE PEOPLE through collaborative events with local community spaces!

Part of porridge's glory is the simplicity of its formula
Check out our video which REVEALS ALL on how we make our signature Golden Spurtle World Championship Winning Porridge!
- Prepare an oat mix of half medium and half steel cut oats
- Use a mug to measure out oats and water in a 3:1 ratio
- Add one teaspoon of salt for every cup of oats
- Put the oats and water in a pan and bring to a boil
- Use a spurtle to stir the oats until they are creamy
- Serve with butter and brown sugar to taste
